Microphone problem

My headset microphone makes a static sound and i do not hear myself through it. I have checked everywhere and cannot find a fix. I was also told to check my uncheck all enhancements under the enhancements tab for my microphone, but there is no enhancement tab for me.

Are you using a 4 pole to dual 3 pole splitter?

Post some pictures of the windows sound control panel.

Try the headphones with the splitter on another PC or laptop to see what happens.

i'm the dumbest person on earth, turns out my heasdset has a mute button on it
