I've tried all gpu ports and 2 different cables but still no output.

I took my cpu cooler out to clean it but my cpu came off with it (thermal paste was pre-applied so it's not my fault if there was too much). I tried a few things to separate them but eventually, a flathead screwdriver was what separated it; there was no bending or scratching done to the pins. As I was putting the CPU back, I didn't get the placement perfect instantly so there's probably some minor scratching but that shouldn't break it right?

I put my PC back together, it booted but no output so I left it for about an hour in case I got some water on something while wiping dust off. Booted it but still had the same issue. I tried removing the cmos battery, trying a different pcie lane, reseating ram, but there's nothing to indicate that there's anything wrong with my PC other than the ram rgb not lighting up (mb light is a solid orange so nothing interesting there). After a few boot attempts, I saw that one of my sticks finally lit up and realised that I hadn't properly clicked them into place. They're now properly clicked into place but aren't lighting up anymore.

What can I do to try fix it? Do I have to wait longer for any water from wiping to evaporate?

also, my power button doesn't turn the PC off, even when held for several seconds

my peripherals don't get power but my Ethernet cable lights up

Edit: I tried only having 1 ram stick and it seems like some of the slots don't work because my rgb now lights up. Still no output though

I fear for your cpu.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.

There was no visible damage so I have no idea if the cpu is the problem

What about the socket?  That cpu stick to the cooler thing is famous for causing problems.  Also the reinsertion of the cpu sounded non standard.

I can take off my cpu and check, but it looked fine earlier

The whole cpu sticking to the cooler thing is a famous way to break stuff.  Iirc there is a LTT video about it.

Took off my cpu, sprayed some compressed air into the socket and now it doesn't boot at all. Power button does nothing and so does shorting the power pins :(

I literally have no idea what to do now. I can't buy a new psu, cpu whatever just to test what's broken but I have to fix it somehow
