Honestly, I wouldn't recomend anything special. It's really not a great CPU. Can you aford an upgrade, or your budget won't allow it?

That CPU is worthless and not fit for gaming. Get a better one and then think about a GPU.

That CPU is NOT for gaming! Its a low-low-LOW end CPU. Do not try to build with something like that, especially if your aim is "mid gaming", that will NOT work!

Like @Kenpachi1985 said, that CPU is really not for gaming. You could definitely install a graphics card in and run games, but the CPU will provide you with a poor experience. You wouldn't really install a powerful GPU, to avoid bottlenecking, so, I would only go up to a GTX 1050 or 1050Ti. While this will allow you to run some games, since you're on AM4, depending on your motherboard, I would get something like a Ryzen 5 1600, if you're on a tight budget, or a Ryzen 3600, if you have a good enough motherboard. A better CPU will allow you to fit a better GPU, and therefore, you'll be able to run more games, at better framerates. My advice is, unless you're on a REALLY tight budget, buy a new CPU and GPU, and even motherboard, if yours is not good enough for the newer Ryzen CPUs. In my experience, it's always better to spend more money on something that will last you longer.
