i recently bought a hot-swap bay for easier backups and such.  do i need to disable write caching for hard disks or are there other permission that need to be set when using the hot swap feature of my motherboard.  its an msi x470 gaming M7 AC. using the bay for ssds i haven't had any problems at all but tonight i put in a couple hard drives into it for the first time and my computer would take forever to read the disk and also wouldn't let me eject the disks. thought i had another 8tb seagate barracuda pro (seriously regret buying them for backups) go bad but when i put it in my usb dock it was fine and didn't take forever to access the hard-drive or eject it. thank you in advance

The only thing you need to worry about is if the SATA port you connect the hot swap bay to is hot swap enabled. Not all SATA ports are hot swappable. You can check for that and set it in the BIOS.
