Help with specs

so my computer is getting a bit old, i think it is about 5 years old right now. I have never replaced any of the parts in my computer, and i'm starting to have a little fps problems

was wondering if anybody knew if it would be better to upgrade my computer or just by a new one.

 

my pc specs right now:

 

Cabinet: Zalman Z11

CPU: Intel Core i7-4790 3.60GHz

Power supply: Corsair RM850, 850W PSU

Graphic card: MSI GTX 970 4GD5 OC

RAM: Kingston HyperX 2x8GB 2400 Mhz

Motherboard: Asus Z97-PRO GAMER

Storage disk: Seagate Barracuda 2000GB 7200 RPM

You can but I'd also recommend you get an SSD.

do you know if my CPU would be able to be connected to a geforce rtx 2070 super, and if not

then what is the best graphic card i can get which can be connected to it

Yep a 2070S is a fantastic upgrade from your 970.

It's more than enough to power a 2070S.

yeah but doesn't the 2070S need a specific amount of connected pins (don't know the word for the pins that go for power suppy to graphic card)

because right now i think that i have 2 cords with 6 pins to connect

You'll notice a huge difference if you buy just a small capacity SSD and put your OS and most played games on there

I wouldn't worry about things like that, you've got a high end Corsair unit. A 2070S requires 6+8 connectors, you should have an 8 pin connector in the free bag they give you.

If it comes to that you could always get in contact with Corsair and arrange to have one sent to you.
