I just dove into the world of anti-scammer video's on youtube and I love it.  Does anyone have advice on how I could mess with these "Windows Support Center" scammers without compromising my computer?  I could set up an older computer just for that or use a VM or something.  I don't expect to be able to go after their computer or anything but I like the idea of wasting their time, I'd take a couple hours out of my weekend to mess with them.

A separate computer with a VM works. But I'd also be heavily cautious with network security. Even if these guys don't really know what they're doing, I'd rather them not know my actual external IP address and/or know what's on my home network.

Would a VPN do anything or make it difficult for them to RD?

I'd highly recommend NOT compromising any personally identifiable information for sport.

Yeah I'm starting to realize that, I think I need to know more to do it successfully.  I'm thinking that I need to learn more about my managed switch first of all

I can appreciate that you want to waste some of their time hehe. I'm certainly guilty of taking my time on the phone with "windows anti-virus support desk."

Yeah, they're stealing from people at a disadvantage.  It makes me want to actually learn the stuff I've been meaning to learn.  Google has an IT program that's really cool but I have a job that I love so no time or energy.
