1660 Super vs 1070 Ti

Okay so I am looking for an upgrade for my RX 570 4gb and I was looking at the 1660 Super and RX 5700 but I don't really want to spend the price to get a 5700. Would a 1070Ti be a good card for a few years even if bought now in 2019? I using a 1080p display at 60hz. Also long term which would be better. I know the 1070Ti has more VRAM but it is older and I would think the others should be supported for longer. The 1660 Super I am looking at is around $229.99, the 5700 is around $299.99, and the 1070 Ti is somewhere in the ballpark of $220-250.

the perf gain to 1660s / 1070 isnt convincing to be a good upgrade path, and you can consider the 5700xt to be a cheaper version of 1080/ti

better lower settings to wait for new cards

For 1080p60, 1660 super is a great card, but wait for the rx 5500 launch. 1070ti is definitely better than both of those cards but it's more power hungry and in directx 12 titles, it's not that far ahead of the 1660 super.

Hard to say, if you're going to play new games especially one with new API (Vulkan/DX12) there is chance that optimization for 1000 series will be slow down or drop.

it's also faster than 1660S (more comparable to 2060) in DX11 performance, but due to architectural differences it does fall short in some newer games (just look at how bad the 1080ti faceplants in Red Dead 2, I dont even want to know how well my Pascal GPUs will do as they are even slower)

Yes, the models were used. I had seen a Strix card at $220 but that was gone in about a few hours. I currently see an Aourus 1070 $240. Also I am upgrading manly to play newer games mainly Ghost Recon Breakpoint, RDR2, possibly Fallout 76, and also Watchdogs Legion when that releases.

1070ti is worth considering, 1070 isn't
