Looking to purchase a TV

MartyOrthobro

While I was doing research for a TV, I realized a lot of the TVs had 4k as a major selling point. To be honest, I have poor vision and see no difference between 1080 and 4k, so I was curious if anyone here is familiar with a TV that's just 1080, as I would guess it would be cheaper. I don't care about refresh rates, so 60hz is fine. However, I do have a big color vision. I really notice when blacks are, well, not black, and seeing greys in place of black is really annoying. As for size, I don't really care and would take anything bigger than 40". I also really don't care about it being "smart" or having dumb software like Roku or whatever. Seems like a waste of money if I'm just gonna be connecting my Xbox and laptop.

So, to sum, if anyone can recommend a >40" TV with just 1080 support that has good blacks, I would be very grateful.

Well, blacks a lot f time have to do with the compression rate of the program/device you're watching through. OLED has the best blacks all around but I don't thing they make anything less than 4k with OLED...

Gets kind of expensive :(

For a good TV , they are going to be 4k, just ensure what u get can handle 1080p content well.

I highly recommend you dont buy a TV that has not been tested and reviewed. (overviews of specs, are not reviews)

Without a budget all i can recommend is the best there is. LG OLED TV's.

They have the best picture quality, deep blacks ..actual blacks ..not like LCD's. They start at 55" at around $1400 for this years models.
