The motherboards for the Ryzen 5 are still cheaper so you'd still come out ahead

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

You wouldn't really be future proofing ant more than with a quality b450 board. The ASRock B450M/AC or any of the MAX boards from MSI like the bazooka or tomahawk will be great for anything you choose in the future.

Depends on what X570 you buy, some are notably worse than plenty of B450 boards.

It's incredibly doubtful that PCIe 4 will be relevant for Gamers anytime soon

i read there is a few % improvement in in game fps, and that its gonan get more useful soon

there really isnt any improvement.

the 2080ti cant effectivly use more than the 8x bus. untill we have more than twice the performance from GPUs (if bandwhidt requirment scale liniarly) then you wont see any difference in a very long time.

lets put it in a different way, how long do you reckon b450 will stay relevant

i would guess its gonna stay relevant for the rest of AM4.

i dont see any reason why it wouldnt. then again AMD could decide anything. B450 Max boards are to all intents and purposes the same as the upcomming B550 boards.

Is b450 tomahawk max a good choice then?

i will note that the Max boards without VRM heatsinks are kinda shite.

you can tell if it has a VRM heatsink if it has a slab of metal right next to the socket after som capacitors.

you can see the slab of metal as i outlined it.

No heatsink is not really a problem unless you have a cooking machine instead of a good airflowed case.
