Hello all,

I was just wondering how using Freesync with an Nvidia card works? Is it just like certain monitors from a supported list like when they first announced their cards would also support Freesync? Or does it now work with pretty much all Freesync monitors? I'm running and 1080ti and need to replace an old 1440p monitor that died on me recently and I found the Freesync version of the Dell monitor I'm running now that would be cool to pair with my main monitor to have a dual setup of basically the same monitors. Thank you for reading and have a wonderful day!

Depends on the model, you can check if the one you're looking at works in this spreadsheet

Oh sweet. Didn't even know someone made a spreadsheet for it. Probably should've just Google'd it... Lol. But yeah, the monitor I was looking at is on there and says it'll work fine. Thanks man!

For monitors that are 60 to 75hz the question arises if Freesync is better than vsync and for my two LG monitors and answer is no. One of them is on the spreadsheet.

I would not buy a Freesync monitor for a Nvidia card unless I saw a review by a trusted source.

Both of mine having it. But I don’t have it one. Don’t need it effecting my game play at high FPS. Should be fine for anything not fast pace though.

Yeah, that's true. I'm not sure if I'll do it either way. Just wanted to ask and make sure. I have a 1440p 144Hz G-Sync Dell monitor right now, so I really don't need a second, it was just nice having two monitors. Lol

Well, it would be a second monitor, so I wouldn't be worried about any other specs other than 1ms response time. It would mainly be for school and watching Twitch while doing other things like gaming on my main monitor. But like I said above, I'm not sure if I will anyway, just wanted to ask for info

It is nice.

I use two so I can have tutorials running on one and the program I am learning on another.

I also have a computer that uses a 38" ultrawide but prefer 2 monitors for productivity.

So what’s the point of it as a secondary? If you aren’t in a 3d application that can use it?
