Hello everyone, been a while since I started a thread myself. This question is fairly general as it is not specific to any particular GPU, though I believe from what I've read, it is specific to Nvidia cards?

The USB Type-C port, is there any point/use beyond VR? Considering the outstanding capabilities of Type-C, is it something that could grow into something more than just a video output for VR? I might not have done enough digging to find out more, but I am wondering if I could, perhaps, connect my GPU to my Android Smartphone and use it as a display. Why, in God's name, would anyone do that, but is it possible? And how are it's bandwidth capabilities when compared to HDMI 2.1 or Displayport? My own GPU has a Type-C output and I am just genuinely curious on the uses of such a thing.

you could use it like a typical USB port if you want to

maybe Type C could do that, but I doubt Android knows what to do with it.

Perhaps there's an app for that.

The idea is its DisplayPort over USB-C + USB-PD + USB 3.1.

In theory you could run a monitor off it with embedded USB ports, over one tiny little cable.  That's a pretty huge reduction in cable clutter.

Although I've never had much luck getting USB 3.0 devices to work on a hub, except the one built-in to Seagate external HDDs.
