They said they can't do anything besides replacing the whole screen which is $118

Bullshit. They're responsible.

I wouldn't be surprised that if you go yell about it on social media or prove that you're entitled to the repair they'll fix it for you.

???

So - believing your post without knowing the circumstances and backstory - you brought in a device (laptop? phone? I dunno.. No backstory), they fixed 1 thing, but broke another and are claiming not to be responsible?

They used a new screen and when he plugged it in, there was no issues but when he plugged my screen in there was a washed out white screen. He said that he tried putting back the original battery to see if it reverted itself and it didnt.

Yes they said that on the paper that I signed, "The customer acknowledges the Staples warranty covers workmanship and replacement part defects. Any accidental damage after the initial repair is not covered.

In that case your only options would be:

- Getting legal help with that bs (seriously, breaking a screen (probably cable) during battery replacement is... Bad), but that can be pricey

- Buckle up and pay the money

- Double down and get in touch with Staples management

- Do the repair of the screen yourself, after diagnosing the issue.

Do you think that I would be able to trade this in to a Apple Store for a new phone. Everything works just that the screen has a malfunction

I still don't know what device we're talking about and I doubt Apple will take in broken hardware

Yeah it would have to be a REALLY nice laptop that's in really good shape for you to even have a chance of Apple giving you a new phone for it.

What laptop is it?
