I am going to be giving away a computer soon as part of a fundraiser, and I want to preinstall some games on it. I was wondering if I can use my Steam account to do this. Below is what I want to do to preinstall Rocket League to the computer (I own RL on my Steam account).

1. Sign into steam on the the giveaway computer with my steam account.

2. Download and install Rocket League.

3. Sing out of my steam account.

4. New owner receives computer and signs in with their Steam account.

5. New user buys Rocket League with their account or already owns it.

6. Rocket League is instantly ready to play since it is installed already.

Is this something that will work? If so will it work with Free-to-Play tiles as well? Lastly, will it work on other platforms, like Epic Games?

Forgive me if this is a simple question. I did some quick google searching, but found nothing conclusive.

Great!

granted you have to keep the Steam/Epic install. If you uninstall Steam but keep the game files then your new steam would have to find it again. If it's the same steam install though there won't be any issues,

Oh BTW amazing that you're just giving away a system like that! Good job!

Okay, that is good to know.

I actually just upgraded my personal PC, and I figured that I could either sell the parts for a small profit, or give it away to someone who could benefit from it. I am actually running a fundraiser that is raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. It is only open to people at my school, but for every $5 they donate, they get one entry into the drawing to win it.

@FloRolf Another question you might be able to answer. What is the best way to give someone a PC copy of Rocket League? Is it best to just buy a $20 Steam gift card and give them that, or is there a way to buy a key for Rocket League that can be given? I know you can buy as a gift on steam, but I want to include a copy with the computer I am giving away and I won't know the recipients Steam information.

Yes that's also quite simple. i'd actually go to HumbleBundle and get a key off there, then just put the key into a .txt file on the desktop so they can activate it on steam themself.

definetly! You can either get the Key there or even get a "giftable link" that'll show the key only the receipient.

Yeah, it was founded by same people who are behind Child's Play Org. Charity is their main gist. Meaning that unlike many other sites, developers actually give free keys and significant price drops to them. Mainly for bundles, where you pay what you want and decide where the money goes. Store is similar to Steam in terms of dividing profit.
