Buliding a Workstation

Go to solution Solved by martward,

It really depends on where you live and what memory is supported by the motherboard.

If you download the Matisse pdf from this website it'll show you memory that has been tested to work with your motherboard at the speed it should work at:

https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/ROG-Strix-X570-E-Gaming/HelpDesk_QVL/

You can use that as a reference at the shops you buy stuff at to see what they have on sale and is decently priced.

Hello,

I just ordered parts for my new workstation (programming, web development) and I still have a chance to do some last minute changes before assembling everything. What do you think of my build?

What will your workstation mostly be used for? Got to say I find it difficult that your motherboard is more expensive than your GPU.

Okay then it makes more sense. If you do plan on using it for either GPU accelerated tasks or gaming I'd consider swapping the motherboard for a cheaper model and getting a more expensive GPU with Cuda support. If not the only thing I can think of is that you might be able to get faster memory, but this should be fast enough as is.

The GPU is there just to support 2 x 4K displays.

I cannot find any better memory in stock at the local stores. I would appreciate if you could recommend me some better memory (I guess 3600MHz?)
