Posted November 13, 2019 Doesn't that thing top out at a 965M? Honestly he should just sell the MacBook and buy something with a GTX 1050 inside, much more powerful I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B Primary PC: i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me. Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference. How many watts do I need? ATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explained, group reg is bad
 Posted November 13, 2019 Why does he want a 4 year old MacBook? Or why does he not want you to have a 4 year old MacBook? What are the relative sale prices? both machines are outdated. The MSI won’t game anymore and it’s something of a behemoth. It’s got more power than the Mac, but that power isn’t very useful. It will run Windows 10, but might not have Windows 10. If it’s an 8.1 machine it’s life is short lived before it requires a new OS. the Mac will run Catalina so it’s still technically current, but won’t be for much longer. It needs to be sold pretty soon and be replaced by a newer device that can still run a current OS. It’s a lot smaller and more handy. It may or may not be possibly be succeptible to a brand new unpatch able Apple bootrom exploit making it possibly radioactive security wise. Not a pro, not even very good. I’m just old and have time currently. Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake. Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere. Good point bombastinator i used it during high school and I now use my Asus et2321 which is less powerful all in one, what he is offereing is more powerful and im not into gaming and won't need to run the latest releases I play GTA and fortnite, and emulators. With that info is it really worth it because I haven't used it since the end of 2017
 IF it affects that MacBook the thing is liable to become worthless in very short order. Not a pro, not even very good. I’m just old and have time currently. So better off accepting the offer? In that case

It wasn’t super clear to me. There’s an article on it on this site. Tech news section iirc. The writer didn’t name which Mac devices, just bootrom chip numbers. Kind of annoying. In any event the thing needs to be sold somehow. It’s days are numbered. The other one will game less badly and it will likely need a $100+ OS upgrade. It won’t run anything current well and it chances of running future stuff is even more bleak. Plus it’s a giant. Also it’s battery may need replacing. Probably true of both machines. Posted November 13, 2019 Author Fair enough and I'm not worried about future titles I enjoy emulation how would things like citra and dolphin run on a 965m compared to my current 740m its only 1gb more on the gpu and with the cpu the msi has a much better cpu then my i7 4500u
 Posted November 13, 2019 Heh. I personally am not familiar with any of those four things so I got squat the internet may have info. Also other people here. as to the CPU it came with i5s and i7s. i5s get only 4 threads Not a pro, not even very good. I’m just old and have time currently. My current rig runs at 1gb gpu and a 2.8 cpu The msi has a 2gb gpu and 3.6 cpu Will that be a noticeable and worth the upgrade for what i want to do
 Posted November 14, 2019 Your machine is easily worth twice as much. Sell it and grab a new laptop with a mx250 or something.
