Hi, I'm planning on building a SECONDARY PC to take with me everywhere.
It's main focus is running VR GAMES. The GPU needs to have about the same performance as an 1660 SUPER.
Im waiting on the AMD 5500 series to come out because I think they could be perfect.
I would like to build it in a TINY CASE like this:

An AMD 3600 cpu or equivalent also seems sufficient.

Which parts do you guys recommend?
I suppose the best strategy is to buy everything on BLACK FRIDAY.

All suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks

Don't know what case was used in that video, but I built my VR PC around the Silverstone SG13. It comes in hard or mesh front versions, and you really have to go for the mesh if you care at all about cooling. Find a mini-ITX board for the 3600, which is plenty of CPU. There is just enough room in there for a 140mm AIO but double check whatever you consider will fit. I went with Silverstone's own AIO although the fans on that are high rpm and take some taming. You may consider ECO mode on the CPU which reduces power (and therefore heat) without too much impact on performance.

If budget allows, get as much SSD as you think you will ever need. If not, pair a smaller OS SSD with a 7200rpm 2.5" HD for bulk storage. I do not recommend SSHDs or 5400rpm drives as they're really slow in responsiveness. The cache of SSHDs are too small to be useful for big games and you're left with a slow HD.

Ram: get 2x8 GB of whatever you like. I'd aim for at least 3000 speed but if budget allows go up to 3600. Since you wont be able to see it anyway, doesn't need RGB or anything.

PSU: the case can take a regular ATX PSU so don't need anything fancy. On a budget I'd suggest the Corsair CX450(M) or 550W equivalent if the pricing isn't much different. The non-M version is slightly better although you will have to cram the excess cables inside the case, there is enough room if you use an AIO. If you have the budget you can get something much nicer, but beware bigger models might not fit.

GPU: if you like the 1660 Super that should be plenty to get on with. Because of the case this is one of the rare occasions where a blower style cooler can make thermals easier than other types. If you don't go blower, check the GPU will fit as space is very limited.

It is way out of date, but you can see my original build in SG13 at link below.

Gaming system: R7 7800X3D, Asus ROG Strix B650E-F Gaming Wifi, Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE ARGB, Corsair Vengeance 2x 32GB 6000C30, MSI Ventus 3x OC RTX 5070 Ti, MSI MPG A850G, Fractal Design North, Samsung 990 Pro 2TB, Alienware AW3225QF (32" 240 Hz OLED)
Productivity system: i9-7980XE, Asus X299 TUF mark 2, Noctua D15, 64GB ram (mixed), RTX 4070 FE, NZXT E850, GameMax Abyss, Samsung 980 Pro 2TB, iiyama ProLite XU2793QSU-B6 (27" 1440p 100 Hz)

I think I would go for a 250 GB pcei ssd to reduce space and maybe for a bronze rated psu because the pc wont be on much.
