GTX 780 or wait?

So, its my birthday in 6 days. I have the chance to grab another 780 and put them in SLI, but I don't know if its worth it. I plan on buying a 4K monitor (for gaming) whenever one is released with G-Sync(Shouldn't be that long). So do you guys think I should get it or wait for a new GPU release? Thanks for the help!

You can be waiting for a long time, there will always be something better.

I think you'll be waiting a while for a GSync 4k monitor, so I'd just keep what you have and upgrade both at the same time.

Since we don't know the performance of next-gen cards yet, we can't say whether a single card will be adequate for 4K gaming now and in the future or not. If you already have a single 780 and you're ONLY able to get a second 6 days from now, then I'd say get the 780 because you don't know how viable the options will be in the future and you don't want to miss out on the opportunity to get the second card. But take that with a grain of salt because most people are expecting Maxwell GPUs to be able to handle 4K in which case it would actually be beneficial to wait.

If you not getting the 4k monitor until g-sync is on it then you don't need a second. One is enough for most people :P

My System Specs: (Short list) i7 4770k, GTX 780, many SSD's, a 2 TB HDD(deceased :( ), Corsair 650D. Full list: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/kchriz6097/saved/8dh7YJ

Upgrade Plan: Acquire some Black Noctuas then add 16 or 32GB of 2133MHz memory

For a couple of generations now, the top-tier card of the previous generation performed similarly to the mid-tier card of the next generation.

So the GTX680 is about the same as a GTX760 and the GTX580 is about the same as a GTX660.

This means that getting a second GTX780 is still a great deal, because it should perform around the same as two GTX860s, which is almost always better than a GTX880, yes, disclaimer - there are bad sides to SLI...etc. you should know.
