Bios update?

Hello to all nice people here..this is my first post! hope you can help me.?

Im running Asus Z170 pro gaming motherboard, i had i5 6600K and now i bought i7 7700k.(which is the best cpu that this motherboard can take)
Butttt i need a bios update "so that the processor can unlock its full potential".. my latest bios is "3016" and there is 8 bios updates that came out since this one that im running

After i put my new cpu in and turned on the pc it booted normaly and im still on my old windows, it even sees that i have i7 7700K running when i check "my computer>properties"
also a guy in a shop told me updateing bios is dangerous and i might lose my motherboard if i do it wrong, he seid that i need to update everly single update one by one until i get to the newest one (i cant directly download latest one and update it).
So my question is.. is it true that i need to go through every bios update one by one and how come that my windows are working properly and system detects that i have i7?

i seen on forums that people are saying i need old cpu to update bios and that wins should not work on new cpu

can you tell me a litlle bit more about it because im thinking of doing this by myslef, the guy at the shop is asking for too much money.. ?

Its still brand new one.. i have 2 screens running and one is 1440p

Can that be the reason?

Also.. about the update, why did the guy in the shop told me that?

And should i be good?

Just put latest updates from asus page on fat32 formated removable drive and run it from the bios menu

And make sure i dont lose eletricity meanwhile ?

Is it that easy?

EDIT:

I just checked that my bios supports new gen of cpus

Take a look at this, the red one is the one im running right now

Thing is everything seems to work fine (except your 1060) so you probably don't need a bios update, so why risk it?
