Is setting dual monitor connecting same video card via HDMI & DP doable?
1) yep! If you got the correct cables, just plug it in the GPU and it will work (running three monitors myself, one via DP, one via DVI, one via HDMI-VGA adapter and works well )
2) Just check if you got the right cables to connect from your GPU to monitor 1 and same for GPU to monitor 2. Also check if via these cables you will get the right resolution/refresh rate. After connecting your monitors, Windows will assume where they are located physically, so you might have to go to 'Display Settings' (assuming Windows) and check if they are located correctly there.
3) No performance decrease, a GPU does typically get a few degrees hotter when running multiple windows. Of course if you're gonna watch a YouTube video on monitor 1 and a game on monitor 2, your GPU does have to do more work than just doing one or the other.
