Old GPU not working

Just fired up my old gaming rig for the first time in over a year, but my GPU doesnt appear to be working. Its not recognized in the system, and there is no output. It is lighting up, fans are working, but no signal from any of the ports - HDMI, DP, or DVI. So far I've tried updating windows, updating drivers, re-installing drivers, and re-seating the card. Is there anything obvious I'm overlooking?

Unfortunately I dont have any other cards to try to check if the pcie slot is working, or any other PCs to check if the card is working.

Parts in question is a MSI GTX 970, Gigabyte Z77 mobo, i7-3770k

Plug into on onboard GPU? if available as the bios without power will draw the battery to die out and settings will reset to default.

IE setting dedicated PCIE as output is reset.

Ive checked that, no luck. My secondary monitor is plugged into onboard gpu, and works fine, looked through BIOS and none of my settings had been rest. The machine has been plugged in the whole time on a UPS, just never used.
