Need help on improving future PC build

ActionMan
Go to solution Solved by Herman Mcpootis,

do you really need an extra 1TB SSD for storage? get a B450-A Pro/gaming plus/tomahawk instead.

So I already have an RTX 2060, so it isnt included in the list.

Was going to build a new PC and wanted to make sure I was getting the best parts.

The build is mostly focused on getting max performance in games.

First time building my own PC after owning pre builts for over 5 years, Budget is around £1000 (excluding the GPU).

Wasn't sure on whether I should spend the whole budget, or which parts to improve.

It looks solid. The only thing I'd change is the motherboard to an ASUS TUF X570-Plus, as MSI's X570 boards, at least the lower-end ones, are known for having very bad VRM cooling. Also consider adding in a HDD for mass storage, unless you're sure that 2TB is enough for you.

Desktop: Intel Core i9-9900K | ASUS Strix Z390-F | G.Skill Trident Z Neo 2x16GB 3200MHz CL14 | EVGA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER XC Ultra | Corsair RM650x | Fractal Design Define R6

Laptop: 2018 Apple MacBook Pro 13"  --  i5-8259U | 8GB LPDDR3 | 512GB NVMe

Peripherals: Leopold FC660C w/ Topre Silent 45g | Logitech MX Master 3 & Razer Basilisk X HyperSpeed | HIFIMAN HE400se & iFi ZEN DAC | Audio-Technica AT2020USB+

Display: Gigabyte G34WQC

Is it worth sticking with the x570 and getting a gen4 m.2 SSD, and then a HDD secondary drive

Yeah it's definitely better and the X570 board I mentioned has a way better VRM and subsequent cooling so you won't play heater XD!

Cheers and good luck building!

It's completely unnecessary for a gaming pc.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W
