yes upgrading those two things would absolutely help, but saying that, you shouldn't have bought it knowing those specs, that's worse than most cheap ultrabooks these days.

You'd be surprised if you buy laptops from Asian retailers. 4GB RAM and 1TB HDD is the "standard spec" around here. Extra RAM and SSD commands way higher price, enough that upgrading it yourself would actually be cheaper than buying a model with extra RAM and SSD.
