Hi forum people, I just got my new pc parts, put in the cpu, and the check to post thing, wanted to remove the stock cooler to replace, and one of the pins wont pop out after I turned it the direction of the arrow, can anyone tell me what I did wrong, and possibly how to fix it?

Usually it'll get stuck be the pressure of the heatsink on the CPU itself.

Try to wiggle it out and worst case scenario take off the motherboard (unless your case gives you access to the back of the board) and squeeze the plastic holders and it should pop out.

In the rare chances that I ever used the stock cooler, wiggling it out works out, or just pulling it by the black head.

Got it out thank you, it just scared me because the rest of the pins came out fine, and the mobo wasn't in any case yet, just doing a test boot. Thank you very much, I wasn't sure about how much pressure to put in the wiggle.

Yeah, those plastic pins can be stubborn.

Not the easiest mechanism to take out, but it'll hold in place if you actually need it to.

I prefer the h100i mounting mechanism, its nice, and easy to use.

Yeah i had this issue when i upgraded from the stock heatsink to an antec kuhler 620 (a few years ago, its gone now) the top right plastic clip would refuse to come out, and it being my first real computer, i was being a little to gentle, still took me a while to take it out

Sp I wasnt totally done with the stock heat sink I put it back on, was trying to take it off today, and now two of the pins won't budge what so ever, any helpful suggestions?

Edit: I got it off, barley but now I never have to see it again, sorry to bother.
