Asus Crosshair VII Hero for Ryzen 3900x?

SO i have 2 questions guys!

 

I am considering to buy a Crosshair VII Hero (WIFI) for my Ryzen 3900x, which i want to use among Stock and make overclock.

But i dont know if i will have problems with that Board, i already know theres a BIOS update needed, any comments against my choice? Other consideration is the Asus x-570e gaming but is so expensive and im not needing the PCIE 4.0 or the WIFI 6 soo... pls help

 

In the other hand, im planning on connecting the following: 1x m.2 NVME Samsung EVO plus 970, 1x m.2 Western Digital Blue (SATA not NVME!!)... will i have problems if i attempt to connect an extra 2TB ssd for storage in the standard SATA ports obviously? is SSD storage a safe choice for Photography storage or should i consider HDD instead? i make a living on the photo bussiness so i need to know this.

I wouldn't go for the WD Blue drive unless you already bought it, you can get something like a Sabrent Rocket for barely more and it's much faster. 

As for the board, I don't have any arguments against it. I used to run one with a 2700X, it's a gorgeous board and an amazing performer. VRMs were massive overkill for the 2000 series, should handle a 3900X ez. 

For photo storage, use multiple HDDs. Slap a couple big capacity lads in RAID (I believe RAID 1 is the one that duplicates across both drives), and then do regular backups to a NAS or external hard drive (never leave an external hard drive hooked up to your PC though, if something were to break the PC it could take that drive with it too, always unplug it once you back up). If you're super paranoid like my uncle is (he shoots a lot of video), you copy your projects onto two more drives and keep one offsite and give the other to a friend for them to keep too, lol.

Not really, apart from other X470 flagships like the Asrock Taichi, MSI M7 and Gigabyte Gaming 7.

That's fine, depending on the board running M.2 SATA SSD can disable 2 SATA ports, but X470 boards have 6 or 8 SATA ports so that should be ok. Or you could use M.2 slots that dont disable SATA ports, you'll need to check the motherboard manual

SSD is good for short and mid term storage. Long term storage should still be HDD based, since when SSD dies all info cant be recovered, but HDDs can usually be recovered. Of course it's best to just keep backups.
