Ram not working properly?

I’ve been using the same motherboard and the same ram for almost a year now. Recently 1 of my ram slots on my mobo got faulty therefore I’m only using 1 slot and 1 ram. I’ve been getting this thing where when I turn on the pc, it turns on for 1 second and then turns off and then turns back on after a second and so on. I switched the ram slot to see if that was the problem and the pc turned on fine but since there wasn’t any ram connected, it wouldn’t boot. How do I fix the problem where the ram makes my pc turn on for a second and then turn back off and so on?

What settings are you running with your RAM?

Also, what are your system specs?

You sure it is your RAM that is causing the issues?  Sounds like your motherboard is faulty and/or dying, since it's the mobo slot that failed already.

It’s stock settings. My mobo is the H110M gaming (MSI) and my ram is the Corsair vengeance LPX 8gb

Might be. I’ve also had problems with my PSU before but I’m not sure if that’s the actual problem.

Our friend above is correct, the problem in your case seems to be the motherboard instead of the RAM.

Perhaps it damaged the motherboard.

What motherboard would you recommend for the I7-7700K? Perhaps under $120.

Depends on your budget, definitely something heftier than an H110, preferably one with a Z270 chipset.

Where are you?  Region/country?

 

There are a lot of Z270 boards on Ebay in your budget...

First off, reset CMOS... If you remove anything or change RAM sticks location your motherboard will think it's bad, resetting CMOS will make it check everything on the board since it think it's new. Then let us know if it boot.
