Can't hit 3600mhz on trident z neo

Benx

I can't get 3600mhz to work on the 3600mhz F4-3600C18D-16GTZRX. I can hit 3200mhz 1.35v, but not 3600mhz and I've tried up to 1.45v/1.15v soc . AMD 3600 build on a asus x570-p board

Ryzen 3600 @4.3ghz stock voltage, Rx 580 @1460mhz core @2150mhz Mem, Asus Prime x570-p, G.Skill TridentZ Neo 3600mhz Cl 16-17-17-37

is that kit on the QVL list from Asus as being validated at 3600mhz on that board? Also, just because the kit is rated at it, doesn't necessarily guarantee that it will hit that on every setup or be stable.

actually its not. according to the memory QVL list for your board, the highest validated is 3400mhz, and that is only 1 kit. Alot of the kits are validated at 3200mhz.

You could try re-seating your CPU.  I had an issue getting my 3200mhz Trident-Z to work properly with XMP.  Every time I tried to overclock I would lose random RAM sticks.  Everything else seemed to work fine.  After re-seating the CPU I was able to hit XMP speeds without any problem.  Of course this was on X299 but it couldn't hurt to try.

Stop pointing out the QVL when something doesn't work with RAM sticks, go take a look at timings, voltage and BIOS update.

Main System: Ryzen 2700, Asus Crosshair VII Hero, EVGA GTX 1080ti SC, 970 EVO Plus NVMe, Crucial Ballistix 3200mhz CL14, CM H500, CM ML240L cpu cooler.

Second System: Ryzen 2400G, Gigabyte B450 DS3H, RX 580 Nitro+, Kingston A400 SSD, Team T-Force 3200mhz CL15

If it ain't overclocked it ain't good...

I stand corrected, I pulled the QVL list from Zen+ not Zen2, or 3000 series.

Even if this particular SKU is not listed listed on the QVL it doesn't mean it's not going to work, it only mean some kits have been tested and confirmed to work, and there is always possibilities that your QVL listed kit will not work at that rated speed on that board because it's just bad or you have a very bad memory controller on you CPU. In extreme RAM overclocking CPUs need to be binned to find that one CPU that can handle very fast memory clockspeed, you need to find a very good board that can handle those fast speeds, there is so much hardware variant that the QVL is worthless IMO.

Look at something else before pointing out the QVL, i run a 3200mhz kit not on the QVL of a C7H at B dies timings, and i've been able to reach 3800mhz with the same kit, the QVL stop at 3466mhz with only 3 kits at that speed and only 5 kits at 3200mhz.

What is the BIOS version and what are the timings? Can you send a picture of the Memory timings and

subtimings? Or use Typhoon burner to make a report?
