Missing Nvdia Control Panel Options

Go to solution Solved by Princess Luna,

You have a laptop with nVidia Optimus which means your RTX 2070 is just a render solution slave... This behaviour on your control panel is actually expected.

I think the only way around here is if you have the option on BIOS to completely disable the iGPU and only go with the dGPU.

I just noticed I used to have a lot more options in my control panel, like the GSync options. Now they are all gone.

I already tried making my RTX 2070 the main graphics card instead of the iGPU. But it didn't change anything. How can I fix this?

My PC specs (Lenovo Y740)

Intel 9750H, 16GB RAM and RTX2070 Max-Q

Windows 10 with latest update and the latest graphics driver.

it probably also has intel HD graphics, that outputs to monitors and stuff, the nvidia graphics are called Mobile graphics,

beacuse their a graphics chip not a card. they dont output video, only render graphics.

I know it's a laptop, it's right in front of me, but a laptop is still a PC. :)

And yeah I already know all of that, thx though... But I never had this issue before, that's the problem. I used to be able to change everything in the control panel. But it's been a while since I last opened it, so I don't know what I might have changed to make it act this way.

No worries m8, thx for the help either way. That's why I don't find any solutions I guess... But I'm 100% sure it had more options like 1 month ago.

also as a sidenote cant you just downgrade your drivers if you want those options?

theres probably some reason for the removal.

I tried reverting to older drivers, but it's the same outcome. I also disabled the iGPU and got this message when I tried to open the Nvidia Control Panel.

I haven't changed anything in my BIOS though. And like I said; I remember there being more options (like 3 dropdown menu's), because I actually changed some of them when I just got my laptop a month ago. But I had not heard about Nvidia Optimus before. I'll look into it. Thanks

Damn I just checked my BIOS settings and it was on "switchable graphics". I now put it on "discrete GPU" again and it works!! I feel so dumb. Thx for the help though. Much appreciated.
