Thanks everyone for the help I almost went with Zephyrus G but I enedup  buying a HP specter 13 x365, and added a 2tb Samsung evo I desided to scratch the second drive and just go with a very large C drive. I have to say most of the things Linus says in the video are very over dramatic the tack pad is actually very good there is no screen wobble at all unless you are hitting the laptop.

Hey people, I am hoping I can get some help here I have been looking around the web for a new laptop and I am having a hard time finding exactly what I am looking for. I have looked at some Dell, HP, Asus and razer devices. 

 

If anyone know of a device that meets the following 

2 hard drives - NVMe for OS second drive can be any thing

13 to 15" display - touch screen preferable

Ryzen 7 or i7 cpu 

16gb of memory or upgradable to 16 gb memory 

 

most of the devices I have looked at fall short so though i would see if anyone here know of something or point me to website that I can use to help me find something

seems that the HP probook 430, the acer travelmate x3410 and the MSI gs43vr phantom pro meet your needs

all EXCLUDING the touchscreen

 

i did not find a single laptop featuring both a HDD and touchscreen

 

i used "geizhals.at" for my search as they let you coose many search criteria. unfortunately the site is in german.

Only falls short on the second drive part but the Matebook X Pro is a solid choice at a super affordable price

strongly reccomend not getting a razer. they have some reliability issues. trackpads dying, bios crashes, etc...

Also id avoid hard drives if i were you, they can break easy and are generally slow and outdated theyre being phased out already

 

Asus does have some options along the lines of Vivobooks and zenbooks. just make sure they work out of the box. Asus has some initial quality controls as things can get passed them. Not to say your device will break randomly just make sure when you first get it everything works out of the box and theres no issues. Otherwise your fine and it'll last you years to come

 

Im just guessing here cause you didnt mention a budget and what currency.

Sorry, no real budget I would like to keep it under 2000 US but that really isnt an issue, Also I should clarify some when I say hard drive I really mean a 2.5 drive bay or a second m.2 slot

Best Build quality, screen, keyboard, and battery life:

 

- Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme

- Dell XPS 7590

- ASUS Zephyrus

 

HIDevolution has superb build and quality control and best of all, they offer Thermal paste upgrades + thermal pads so I would definitely choose "Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut + Fujipoly Extreme Thermal Pads" in the laptop customization screen. That upgrade alone reduces temps by 15C to ensure the laptop doesn't overheat and/or thermal throttle.

Since thats your price, id agree with ultra on the MSI Prestige 15. Also, dont buy the Alpha 15. that GPU isnt even released yet and you shoudnt reccommend a product with a brand new GPU thats not even out yet.

 

Odds are itll be fine but still. That being said, the RX5500m on the Alpha might be more powerful than the GTX 1650 Max Q so ill leave it to as to whether you value the small performance increase of the Alpha in gaming and wanna wait for the reviews on it. that being said if your looking for mobile gaming machines you should go for the Zephyrus G anyhow. 

 

Zephyrus Ga502 for $1000 (depending on where you look and sales, like at best buy its at $1000 sale alot) has a 1660TI max Q, 120Hz refresh, 16gb, 72whr battery netting you 6-7 hours of normal use and a 512 SSD with another m.2 slot free for expansion and another for expanding ram. Screen color accuracy aint great though. 

 

Prestige is good bang for buck more focused on conventional use rather than gaming. Not a gaming machine but can run some older titles and newer and stuff at medium settings. Good screen, battery life is better too. just at the cost of GPU. 

 

Ill leave it to you as to which youre lookin more for

i dont know what size are you looking for, if you dont mind the regular laptop size, as in not gaming laptop massive bulk or ultrabook thin and light, just good old regular size laptop, then i would recommend TUF gaming laptop from ASUS.

 

Ryzen 7 3750H

GTX 1660Ti 6GB

256GB nvme ssd + 1TB hdd

16GB DDR4 upgradable to 32GB

120hz screen

 

all that for only 1099USD plus tax, its pretty freaking hard to beat at this price range.

 

The only other real competitor i see is lenovo Y540

256 nvme ssd + 1TB hdd

8GB DDR4 upgradable to 32GB

 

this setup is $1099 as well, both laptop have some other upgrades i think, to RTX model or more RAM etc etc.

 

Id say these new wave of budget laptops are really kicking asses. If you tell me these laptop cost 2k last year i would have believed you.

Thanks everyone for the help I almost went with Zephyrus G but I enedup  buying a HP specter 13 x365, and added a 2tb Samsung evo I desided to scratch the second drive and just go with a very large C drive. I have to say most of the things Linus says in the video are very over dramatic the tack pad is actually very good there is no screen wobble at all unless you are hitting the laptop.
