Yup, and you're best bet, if you are planning a hackintosh, is to google "hackintosh hardware compatibility" and then you'll be able to see what hackintoshes like, and don't like.

CPU : Intel Core i-something, AMD will do too but need more attention.

Motherboard : Gigabyte if possible. They are the least problematic. If not ASUS / MSI will do.

GPU : Radeon, since apple only use AMD GPU lately. It's easier to just use what apple use on their lineups. You can use nvidia but the drivers is not good (up to GTX 9xx only).

 

Just go to any hackintosh forum and follow one of the "success stories".
