I plan to buy a chinese card with the Intel AX200 module.

 

I can go barebone or PCIe. The PCIe is just an adapter that does M.2 -> PCIe. These adapters have a port (see attached) supposed to be connected to a USB header on the motherboard for Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity.

 

Question, then: if I buy the barebone version and antennas, will I get Bluetooth nonetheless?

That would depend on if the port/adapter you are plugging it into supports USB or not.

Usually the keying for such cards is not the same as for high performance NVMe, so you need to check the key the card needs and what you have on the mobo (some mobos have slots for accessories).

Typically a WiFi/BT card has key A and/or E which include USB signals, while your standard PCIe x4/SATA SSD connector is key M which has no USB and you couldn't even physically plug your wireless adapter in in the first place.

Basically if your mobo has a key A/E slot you can plug it straight in and both WiFi and BT will work, but if it doesn't you'll need the adapter card and USB cable.

My motherboard manual doesn't say which key it uses but I bet it's the M key, so I'll buy the PCIe adaptor
