Hello there people of the internet,

I need help figuring out what GPU and CPU to get to upgrade my current potato PC.

Current Specs: GPU - AMD Radeon HD 6570

CPU - AMD FX (tm) - 6100 Six - Core Processor         3.30 GHz

                           RAM - 8GB DDR3

                               Power Supply - 500 Watts

                           Motherboard - Outdated

I am on a budget so i cant get anything overkill but i was thinking on getting the now outdated Ryzen 2600 CPU as i thought i would get this instead of getting the new Ryzen 3600 to save some money and pairing it with the RX 590 GPU.

Does anyone else have another thought on what i should get, be it getting a cheaper CPU or Graphics Card to save money or spend a little more to get that extra value and performance. Any comment would help me out,

Thanks

If you're going Ryzen, you're going to need a new motherboard and new RAM.

If you can't afford all that right now (and if you can, buy it), grab something in the RX 570/580 range and let it ride with the CPU you've got until you can get yourself a B450 board, DDR4 RAM and an R5 2600/3600.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

Thanks very much for your reply

I was going to get 16GB of Cosair Vengence RAM and a B450 board anyway, but do you reckon i should spend a little more for the R5 3600 rather than the 2600 and pair it with an RX 590 or save money and get the RX 580 then to upgrade the power supply?

Whats your total budget?

Well im not totally sure of what my budget is; its more about the value for me. I was looking at the RX 590 and paring it with the R5 2600. if you think i should spend more or less to save would be useful, and other GPU and CPUs i could get instead

Well the 2600 is a good cpu but the 3600 is also better by a good bit. I would also take into account what you will be using it for. If you are just planning on playing on a 60hz monitor at 60 fps then the 2600 would be my suggestion. If you are shooting for 144hz esports gaming then I would go for the 3600.

I would suggest a used Vega 56 (about the exact same price as an RX 590, but about 25% faster), paired with the B450 board, and T-Force DDR4-3000 (best value).

Something like this:

Thanks, this looks good
