Storage Spaces on Windows 10

How reliable is storage spaces on windows 10? Second, if I were to use two sata ports for a "raid 0" and I pulled the drives out and used one of the ports to look at an old drive (I tend to get asked to pull old files from friends), would Windows see it as part of the pool?

Instructions for frustration management:  

1) Sit at desk.   2) Repeatedly slam forehead against desk.

If you pulled a drive out of your RAID 0 pool, you wouldn't be able to boot the Windows install that's on them, so there would be no way for Windows to see the different drive as part of the pool.

I was not clear. Windows would be on a separate drive and not on a raid setup. I am talking strictly using storage spaces with different drives using stripped ("raid 0).

If you need to disconnect them from the system do so with both, just plug them back into the same port to avoid the potential for issues. Alternatively, just get an external HDD dock, then there's no need to worry about reaching into your computer anytime you're working on a drive temporarily.

I have the Haf XB EVO, so I can just reach over to the front and yank them out after ejecting them. I only do this about once a year and I hate using external hardware like that.

Do you need the drives joined together in RAID 0 or would it be fine to use them as two separate drives?  Logically there should be no reason why you couldn't pull the drives out to make room for this other one when needed, but I know RAID 0 is delicate and I don't have any solid knowledge saying that Storage Spaces is better, so I would be concerned that it might corrupt things.  If it could be avoided, then that's a potential headache 100% resolved.
