I'm currently running a 2700X on a ASUS ROG Strix X470-F. I want to swap this out with a 3700X. My understanding is that this board can run a 3700X, just without support for PCI gen4.

as long as you have the latest bios you should be good to go

Is this correct, or should I wait until a new board can be acquired as well?

Thanks!

Don't bother with PCIe 4, at least another 3 years.

Swapping to 3700x won't be a big jump, yeah your board can run it with a bios update.
