Hi!

I’ve got a Corsair RM850x PSU and ASUS Radeon 5700 XT GPU.

Mentioned GPU have 8 pins and 6 pins power sockets.

i currently have 8 to 8 pin cable + {6+2 pin} cables connected. Second one is connected to PCIe (8pin) port on PSU and just a 6 pins to GPU (the +2 pins are dangling near the GPU) and it don’t looks good ?

I have plenty of 6 pins ports free on my PSU, but these are named “Peripheral & SATA”.

I would want to get a 6 pin cable to power up my GPU without that “dangling +2”.

Can I simply plug a 6 pin cable into one of those “Peripheral & SATA” ports on PSU?

Or maybe I could buy a PCIe 8-pin to 6-pin cable (I don’t know if something like that exist)?

OR maybe there is a different way of dealing with it, that I am not aware of?

Any help greatly appreciated!

You can't use your 6 pin periph/sata ports for the GPU, not easily anyway.

You could buy PCIe extensions cables (these are universal), one 8 pin and one 6 pin, this would leave the horrid +2 behind the mobo tray.

OR

You could tuck the spare +2 in here?

?

I don’t thing there is enough space to tuck the +2 cable in there (at least not inside).

I am not sure if I get what You means by those extension cables.

Can I get 8 to 6 pins one?

btw: thank You for the answer
