Dual 750 ti???

I currently have a good gaming pc.

it runs all my games at max settings at around 50-60 fps.

But i would really like VR

i have basically hacked steam to recognise my phone as an oculus and it makes my phone work like one and it runs fine. But the problem is i assume an actual headset would be way more demanding than my phone. So im thinking of getting another Gtx 750 ti. Would this work? Is it worth it? it would barely fit in my case with less than a centimetre away from the other card. Would cooling be a problem? My card stays quite cool during gaming sessions. I just wanna know if this will work.

It will not work.

750 Ti can't do SLI and VR doesn't work with SLI.

GTX 970 is a minimum spec for VR.

 

Also, actual headset would be good yes. CV1 Oculus Rift for instance would be perfect with 980 or 1060.

 

I personally have Pimax 4K with Nolo VR and it's a "4k" headset so everything is ultra sharp.

You can. 750 Ti is not powerful enough to run VR. If you plug it in, I doubt it will work.

He might've hacked it so games run on his 750 Ti.

Then he might've lowered the settings to an absolute minimum as in render etc.

Then he stated that his games run well, but in fact the quality is bad.

He didn't show you any proof so you can't exactly take his statement as valid.

the reason i believe it is because my card could run my vr games on my phone at medium to high settings at a good enough fps to prevent motion sickness

yes i know but with my budget i cant afford an all new card. so the main question was just if i could get another 750 ti and you answered that.

Do whatever you want but dude, they won't run well. Again, do whatever you want, but even my old 780ti struggled to run some games and 780ti is over twice as fast as 750ti. I'm sure some games will launch, but it will feel extroardinarily bad. 

 

edit: Oh yeah and VR doesn't do SLI.... IIRC 750ti doesn't do SLI anyways though.

750ti in VR will run like a dog who just has 3 of hit legs removed and not replaced with wheels. Don't do it. My 780ti, which is like 3x as fast as a 750ti, really struggled in vr. 750ti would be a nightmare

 

You also can't use SLI with VR. Games don't support it.

If you're a man of curiosity then definitely shove another 750Ti in your rig. It'll be interesting, to say the least!

 

If you're a man of reason then it's best to sell the 750Ti and buy something like an RX570 which go for $100 or less. $75, if you go the RX470 way. 

 

The 570 is over twice as fast as the 750Ti with twice as much vRAM. Plus, it will also consume less power than twin 750Ti's. Besides, SLIs and Crossfires aren't reliable. Very few games are actually optimized for twin GPUs.
