Any Ideas Of How I Could Mount A 24" Monitor On A Lan Case?

Bluethulhu

I am going to need to build a PC for my friend soon, probably in less than 4 months. We both love LAN parties, we have one at least every three weeks. This is a problem, because he can't exactly haul a fairly loaded case, 24" monitor, and a backpack full of peripherals all the time. My idea of how we could solve this is to take the monitor stand off of my VE248H that he bought from me, get a VESA mount, and drill the monitor into the back side panel. I am not sure what case to get, but I was considering the Bitfenix Prodigy, NZXT Vulcan, or the CM Storm Scout II. If you are going to suggest a different case, keep in mind that it needs to keep the entire build under $1350, have handles, be small (should be obvious), be sturdy, and be from a decent brand.

Sorry if my english was crap, it's 2AM and I need to sleep.

I thought about doing this exact same thing. Basically vesa mount the monitor to the side of the case. However you will need to brace the inside of the case so you still get the stabilty and support the case door. The Prodigy could be a problem as one side has the vents for GPU and the other has the power switch and ssd mounts.  Have you thought about a Matx case like the Corsair 350D. Not sure on the price but from the stuff i have seen of it it looks fantastic. Window on one side panel but the other im pretty sure is just straight steel. Its also a bit bigger than a Mitx case so should be more stable.

TTL has done a indepth review of it seen here

also check out this corsair link     http://www.corsair.com/en/pc-cases/obsidian-series-pc-case/obsidian-series-350d-windowed-micro-atx-pc-case.html

window version $109.99 US and non window $99.99 US

As for the ram i would try and go low proflie ram so there is no chance the ram will get in the way of the cooler. something like

You could save yourself $20 and go for the straight 120gb Samsung SSD if you want as well. Thats what i am running and it is excellent.

Hoping the links work and hope you dont think ive tried to change your build to much.
