Hi All,

This is a follow-up to a question I asked the other day. Do Voip phones exist that don't need to be plugged into a wall socket/the router? If so does anyone have any good recommendations?

If not can I use one of the internet over power adaptors (aka the adaptors that carry internet via the power points in the house) to plug a voip compatible phone into it? If so does it need to have any specific specs on it?

Gotta buy it tommoz as the house hasn't had a phone for a week and my 85 year old grandma lives there and won't use a mobile.

Thanks All.

Will she use a mobile that feeds regular house phones? Might be easier to setup. It takes a simcard and provides voltage for traditional telephones.

VoIP over WiFi is not typically reliable. Powerline ethernet doesn't need anything special, but it doesn't work in every type of house wiring.

Bullshit! We use it at Home and the work perfect when you select the right Gear.
