Smaller size (>24inch), low input lag, high refresh monitors?

Otto_iii

Currently i own a old XG2401, im happy with it, especially after comparing it more to the other monitors i have duplicating duel-screen on same system.  If the input lag difference isn't always easy to tell the lack of blur when snap-firing etc, twisting around, or racing cars at high speed is super noticable.  However what i wonder about, and what gets me as somebody who only cares for 1080p so long as i graphics can support good image sharpening (AMDs seems to work well) is that there are no smaller solutions, no 19 inch etc.

Partly im asking if there are but im fairly sure there aren't, and why is this?  Why are there no super low input lag, high refresh, smaller monitors, its the best layout if you are actually gaming, atleast from a oldschool perspective, yet you HAVE to go 24-27+ inch in size, which honestly is too big, especially if you run multiple monitors.  I'd rather have multiple 17-19 inch monitors then one 24-32 inch on my desk, and as somebody with a VERY deep desk (like 45+ inches) 24 is still arguably less then ideal for monitoring peripheral vision easily, like anybody from the nintendo era, or mobile game format is used to where all the screen falls easily within the range of clear peripheral vision.

Image of relative setup, just to try to illustrate that YES, i have already moved further back from monitor to try to help issue i see with everything being 24+ inches.

So what gives? And are any of the portables alternative to full size monitors actually low latency or do their input systems (thunderbolt etc) or panel type (IPS) restrict them too much?

Edit: YES i know CRT exists, im asking about newer tech that isn't CRT, i don't have 1200$ for a 15+ year old screen that weighs 30-40lbs

I think you nailed the answer in your post. Old school perspective. There simply isn't enough demand for a screen too far under 24" with a high refresh rate to warrant producing them. Why make something so few people are going to buy? That said, there are many 23" options if you're willing to pick one up from eBay. I think people also don't have the same issues with sight as you do, my desk is half the depth of yours and I had 2 24" monitors just fine. Currently have a single 29", and will be getting a 32" shortly.

Yeah that makes sense.  What i guess i am left wondering is if i did continue to care about this, are any of the high refresh portable monitors even worth it?  Ive seen a few reviews but not many nearly as detailed, and for me input lag and motion blur is a big concern, yet id imagine some of these in their small form might just sacrifice on processing power, may incure more input lag (not sure it works that way, but id imagine maybe it could)
