Ok so i have wanted to make my own fantasy world with lore and stuff for a long time and have finally started, but i have a few questions that i need help with.

 

1. The name, i have know idea what to name it, Im not asking for names but ways to figure out a good name

 

2. How do i use photoshop for drawing images of the creatures in my land? I cant draw for shit in real life so i was hoping i would have better look on photoshop.

 

3. I may want to wright books based in my land in the futre, Do you think ths is a good idea.

 

4. How to i make it so that its not to similar to lord of the rings or elder scrolls universes.

1. Names are often said to be the hardest part, while this may be a bit exaggerated it definitely isn't easy. Hold back on the name for now and choose a relevant one once you're well into your lore, this will make it easier for you.

 

2. Photoshop is not going to magically make you better at drawing, the only thing that can help you here is practice, practice, practice and yet again more practice. Another option is to have a friend help you out.

 

3. Writing books may or may not be worth it. If you do it right you'll be a millionaire in a couple of years, if you don't you'll have "wasted" metric tons of time.

 

4. Well that's quite simple isn't it, come up with something else. :D

As a kid I used to try to make my own fantasy world in my dreams, and then as I got older, I never really wrote any of it down. I grew older, and all I have left of it is a few vague memories and a drawing of what appears to be a castle and me slaying a mecha-dragon of the sorts.

 

I might for the fun of it do something like this too. It sounds like it would be very enjoyable.

3. Try it like i do, everytime you have an idea describe it and write it into a text file or notebook, and when you think its time to use them, start.

4. Just because you elder scrolls have dragons, and LotR have orks it does not mean you cant use them now. just keep it true to your world and it will work out.
