When i play a game, my cpu temp can reach 80-90c but the game run very fine with 60fps or even more, but i always turn on vsync so max fps is 60fps. The cpu temp decrease to 75c even less (depending on game) when i alt tab, and the cpu temp also decrease very fast to 48c when i quit the game, less than a minute from 90c to 48c. Even though its 80-90c when playing a game my laptop body doesn't heat at all, its just little warm near cpu but not heat at all. My fan speed around 5k+ rpm. Its possible the sensor is wrong or maybe my cpu is overheating ? I just bought this laptop last month.
This is my laptop spec ASUS TUF FX505DT
Ryzen 5 3550H
16GB RAM
Nvidia gtx 1650 4gb

Here a screenshots for the temp

When playing game

When exit the game less than a minute can decrease to 48c from 90c

FYI my idle temp is around 38-48 depending on ambient temp

Laptops generally run hotter when it comes to CPU instead of CPU, this is because manufacture focus more on GPU temps because in normal games it's unlikely for the cpu to reach full load. What you can do to reduce temps is 1) Undervolt ( tutorials on youtube) 2) Elevate the bottom of the laptop for more airflow 3) Get a cooling pad 4) Put a more aggressive fan curve. I have an alienware and on 100% CPU it thermal throttles, :/ that's how laptops are
