Aftermarket 1080 vs 5700 xt

I currently have an EVGA FTW 1080, and I'm wonder if it's worth to sell on and upgrade to the 5700xt. So asking around if people have made the same jump and what's it like in the real world, benchmarks can only tell me so much but does it provide a better experience . I.e. does it lock out a 60hz screen at 1440p maxed out for a AAA game? The 1080 can't do that for heavy AAA titles)

the 5700xt probably sites between a 1080 and 1080ti, i recently had a 1080 but traded it in against a TI but was considering the 5700xt but at the time there was no aib cards and it would of worked out more expensive, but the 5700xt  it will do 95% AAA games at 60fps at 1440p, my 1080ti is paired with a r5 3600 with all cores set to 4.2

While the 5700 XT is close to 1080TI performance when properly set up, it also has the benefit of significantly newer standards for OpenCL, OpenGL, Shader Model, and Vulkan.

 

Realistically, you'll only get about 15% improved performance, but it'll be able to handle newer rendering standards in the hardware rather than having to use software to make up for the lack of hardware support.
