3.6ghz clock speed

Can you explain why my cpu is not turbo boosting itself. The cpu is always stuck at 3.6ghz no matter what i do. Clock speed stays the same in idle and even in heavy gaming.

is ur multiplier fixed in bios? you gotta send photo of ur bios.

How do i check the multiplier in bios?

i think you set the clock ratio to 36? go to bios and set it to auto...

1. restart/power up the pc
2. spam Esc or F2 or Del (idk what motherboard you have so..idk which is it for you..)

   you'll be in the bios/uefi
3. go to the oc tab
4. look at the multiplier/ratio. if it's at 36,press 0 then Enter. it'll show Auto now.
5. save,exit and the pc will restart.

I mean i bought this pc as prebuilt so i don't know what to expect.

I hope i won't destroy my pc by doing that.

setting to auto shouldn't have any problem..mine is running in default speed too...i only overclock my gpu and ram...

3.65ghz is the default all core boost you should see in gaming.  If you have really good cooling it can go up to 3.7ghz all core.

It was already set to auto and yet cpu stays at 3.6

oh ya..what cooler you're using?i assumed you have a decent cooler that's why you're complaining about the boost speed..amd's max boost are just lies 3.9ghz for 2600.. it only hits it single core when there's no load...=(...

enabling xmp only runs the ram at the rated speed..nothing will go wrong..

i just enabled xmp. Now task manager says ram is at 3000mhz. I hope my ram won't overheat or something

it won't...xmp is basically motherboard asking the ram hey what speed are you rated for...then the ram reply 3000mhz..then the motherboard says ok i'll set it to 3000mhz..

Set CPU clock ratio to ''a'' for Auto if you don't want to mess with static all core overclock, Open the case, inspect your memory sticks and see what they are rated to ex: 3000mhz cl16-18-18-38, Set X.M.P profile to 1 or manual, set memory frequency to rated memory speed, set DRAM voltage to 1.35volts, and that about it.

You can also reset CMOS.... that will set everything to Auto, then set XMP profile.
