dual channel does not work after update

So i was upgrading my computer to a ryzen 3600 (previously was ryzen 5 2400g) and i also had 16 gb dual channel memory and when i put the new cpu in my computer refused to boot unitl i took the ram out of the second dimm slot then it booted i don't know what to do or what is causing the problem

Latest bios revision?

 

Clear CMOS and reinstall the removed stick.

What’s the cmos? Is it the battery looking thing? If so I have already done that and it has the latest bios. The motherboard is a MSI b350 gaming pro motherboard

Clear CMOS can be done with shorting pins I think, but pulling the battery and waiting for say, 5 mins should also work.

CMOS is the thing storing your settings. Clear it and everything (apart from bios profiles) go back to factory defaults.

Could you give me step by step instructions. Wouldn’t that be the same as just removing the battery for a couple minutes.

do you still have the 2400G? Does putting the second stick back work again with the old CPU?

I didn’t see any broken pins in the socket and I did try to move sticks and only put one stick in the slot but it did not post
