Road map recommendations for future upgrades

Hi all, i could take some future(or now) upgrade recommendations for my setup. It is somewhat unique as i mostly play VR games and old retro stuff so 2700 haven't failed me so far. New 3900x sure looks good but i am not sure if i should wait for next gen AMD or Intel cpus which may come with ddr5 mobos.

Next gen ryzen will still be am4, so ddr4. But the next after that will be ddr5.

 

If your current cpu works fine no reason to change it.
