Hi, looking for some advice, i am trying to overclock my rtx 2080, it is a msi gaming x trio, im a bit of a novice trying when it comes to doing OC so i was using msi afterburners OC scan, when i run the oc scanner it get to stage 3 of 4 were it just goes over the 1935mhz it normally runs at, then for some reason it turns off my monitor and it wont turn back on, the pc is still running but i have to hold down the power button to restart the PC then its back to normal. Any ideas what causing this?
I dont have any other issues with the gpu in everyday gaming it just i thought id try n overclock it but it dont seem to want to do it.

Do it yourself.

 

Open MSI Afterburner and increase core clock as Heaven 4 is running. Every 60 second up the core clock by 10 by tabbing out. Once you start seeing glitches or a crash, back down by 10 or 20mhz and that's your OC.

 

Same for the memory.

 

Don't worry if it crashes, it will not damage anything. You can't damage your card via software.

 

ALSO: crank VOLTAGE and POWER TARGET to MAX.

yeah i might try it manually, is it normal for the just the monitor to crash though?

Voltage + Power + Temps to max. As @TheNaitsyrk suggested increase the core clock by 10-20mhz and test again.

You can also increase the memory speed on your GPU in steps of 50mhz (400-500 memory speed is ez). Overclock your core first and then the memory.

I am currently running my GTX 1080 with +125mhz core clock and 600mhz memory.
