I have an idea that I haven't seen explored. And, I'm wondering if anyone else has looked into it. Basically the idea would be to place additional water block(s) on the cool side of the radiator of a standard water cooling setup with the cool side of the TEC on the water block and the hot side on an additional air cooler. In theory this could cool down the incoming coolant below the level of cooling provided by the traditional radiator fan combo. Has anyone tried this kind of a setup?

Welcome to the Forums!

This was done by cool it way back in the day, it essentially created a hot side and cold side watercooling loop which is effective but extremely inefficient since you need an enormous amount of TEC cooling potentially to reach a tangible difference in terms than just regular watercooling.

Doesn't Linus have a very old video where he did this? Basically it was like 8+ TEC units to achieve a little bit under ambient temps in a watercooling loop.

I'll link the video if I find it.

Yes he actually reviewed or talked about that exact cooler also way way back. XD

This has been done multiple times and every time it's trash.

Seriously there needs to be a sticky like this.

Topic Tecs

Tecs are trash. Everything you think you are the first to do or is a good idea was done in the early 2000's and it was found to be horrible. Throw the Tecs away.
