GPU Usage Low!

I have an RTX 2070 and while running a game, it goes up to like 85 degrees while the fans are on 50%.

How can I reduce this while not making the noise unbearable?

try set the fan curve, 50% on 85C is too low..

maybe you can try download gpu-z to monitor what's the throttle caused by

Anywhere past 50% is quite loud though. Like at 50%, I'm wearing headphones while listening to a video and i can hear it relatively clearly still.

Also how do I find the throttle in GPU-Z?

on sensors tab, there's perfcap reason

what manufacturer is it? it's weird if 50%+ is audible, my opinion is you have to sacrifice a bit, like pump up to 60% or lower the power..
but 85 C is pretty normal on 2070..

Just limit your fps in games, turn down settings to hit that target fps, or undervolt the GPU, or just lower the power target slider by like 10/20% or something.

usage low? your question versus title is different. tbh 85C with fan noise 50% little bit suspicious . the fan should start spin at maximum

I have really high temperatures and low usage. Temperatures sit at around 85 degrees with 50% usage and fan speed.

I also have a problem where my gpu usage is pretty much always at 50% as well, would lowering power make that worse? How do I stop that too?

Your GPU usage is going to depend on the game running and it's quality settings and resolution settings.

If you mean your fan speeds are low, it's probably just trying to keep it around 85C at all times.

Or try different software for monitoring the GPU. Though GPU-Z should be pretty accurate.

Yeah but I'm playing at 1080p and my GPU is sitting at 50% in every single game.

Could it be that I am bottle necked by CPU and RAM?

I have DDR3 Ram and an i7 3770

1080p 60hz/fps?

Your GPU just doesn't have to work very hard to run that resolution, like you only needed a 1060 6GB/RX 580

Your 3770 is still fine if you're only gaming at 60hz.

Just wait for B550 AM4 boards if you feel like upgrading anyways, go for an R5 3600 and some fast RAM.

Or just buy a 4k 60hz display or something.

I'm at 144hz and I usually play games like Rust and Siege. I'm considering getting DDR4 3200mhz with R5 3600.

Then ya your CPU is likely a bottleneck for those games.

Dunno how well optimized rust is.

If you're in the US there are some cheap 3600mhz CL 16 kits.

And the X570 ASUS Prime is likely the minimum board you want, it's not too much more than the MSI B450 boards now they're the only ones with USB bios flashing.

Sounds like you should just let it burn if the noise is too much. Or put a better cooler on it.

Sure. Or the Arctic stuff. Or an aio or water cooling.

Return it for an RX 5700 XT Sapphire Pulse Nitro+, easy solution.

Wait what case do you have?

That would be why your GPU is at 85C...If the case doesn't have front mesh with fans just try taking off a side panel to see what that does for the temps and probably move it somewhere it can actually get air.
