HELP VIRUS? security task manager

As you can see below the security task manager app has a lot of viruses, i don't know if i should trust the app or not

What the heck is "security task manager" and why would you want to install that shovelware on your computer instead of Malwarebytes and Windows defender?

because it detects task manager viruses that are camouflaged as windows apps

Hi mojodenmark,

just to make sure I get everything correctly, the app you mentioned is supposed to scan for viruses which disguise themselves as system processes?

If it is what I just said, where did you get the app from?

so does most other anti viruses.

 

If its really bad, just do a reinstall.

This is not "lot of viruses". It looks similar to virustotal - it scans single file using many engines. You may have one, single infected file.

Hi mojodenmark,

the app seems to be ok, even if it is said to give false positives occasionally. In this case, though, it doesn't seem so. "Neshta", according to Enigmasoftware and Sophos , injects code into .exe files on connected drives including network shares, hence I believe you get all these warnings.

If you have a good anti virus program at hand you can try it and see whether it removes all entries found. If you want to be 100% sure I'd also recommend a full reinstall (don't forget your backup). If you don't shy the costs you could also bring your PC to a nearby computer store and have it fixed for you.

 

For the future I'd recommend getting a good anti virus program (no freeware and from a renown company).
