Gpu Artifacting

I bought a new graphics card for my pc about a week ago. It is a Red Devil RX 570 4gb. Whenever a play a game about 30-60 min in I get artifacting, but it only shuts down the game, not the computer. This only happens to me during loading screens. I have a 600w power supply with more than enough power to spare. This only happens during loading screens, and the only type of artifact I get Is either a red checkerboard pattern or a blue one. Tried lowing the boost and memory clock in msi afterburner, doesn't really do much. I have the latest drivers installed.

RAM - 3200mhz Corsiar Vengeance Pro RGB (2x8gb)

Gpu - 2070 Super FE

Psu - Thermaltake Smart BX1 650W 80+ Bronze

Case - Cooler Master H500

Storage - 240gb Crucial SATA SSD (boot), 3tb Seagate 7200rpm HDD

faulty card can do that, underclocking dont always solve the problem. Do check the PCIe slot and verify game file integrity.

The checkerboard patterns are ironically a good sign, that's very rarely the fault of the actual card, that's almost always the pcie slot or pcie controller having a fit. 

 

Try it in another x16 slot if you have another x16 slot. Reseat the card, clean out the pcie slot, make sure all the board power is connected correctly.

This can also, very rarely but sometimes, be the cause of drivers. Try either and update or a rollback to an older driver version.

I had a different graphics card before the 570 arrived, I just deleted those old drivers, ill see if it artifacts again, if it does ill install it in the other slot like you suggested.

Make sure you run a DDU and not just deleting them

Thanks for your help, deleted my old drivers and played for two hours with no artifacting, pretty sure it's fixed now.
