X570-E Gaming chipset temps?

Go to solution Solved by Guest,

Yeah, I’m assuming it’s just a voltage issue or just the flawed design. I haven’t messed with anything since my build.

Hello, all.

At idle, my motherboard’s chipset tends to sit at 60*C - 63*C with the PCH spinning at ~2500RPM. The highest I’ve seen is 74*C while playing games such as PUBG. At first, I thought it was contributed to my GPU heat, but my RTX 2080 XC Ultra rests at 38*C under idle. The video card populates the top PCIe slot, and the PCH fan is located between the two PCIe slots. My NVMe drive populates the bottom M.2 slot, and my SATA cables are located in the slots furthest from the fan.

The cover is screwed on properly and tight, so I’m running out of suspects. Could it just be that the -E Gaming runs hotter? I know most X570s CAN because with the implementation of the active cooling fans, but this seems excessive. Thoughts?
